Certified Hardox® Wearparts center

OMNIS is part of the global network of centers certified by the Swedish steelmaker SSAB, and one of only two such centers in Serbia. We have been in the network for more than nine years.

What certification means

The material is only half the job

Hardox® is wear-resistant steel, hard from the surface through to the core. But that hardness is easily destroyed by poor processing. Cut the plate too roughly or weld with too much heat input and the material softens in the heat-affected zone — and the tool cracks exactly where the load is highest.

Certification means SSAB checks where our material comes from and how we work it. Cutting, bending, drilling and welding follow their procedures, with the specified preheating and controlled heat input. That is the difference between a tool that lasts and a tool that is merely made from more expensive plate.

Hardness grades

Harder is not always better

The right grade depends on what the machine actually digs. Too much hardness makes the tool expensive without any gain; too little and it is worn out within months. That is why we ask about the material before quoting.

450 HBW
General purpose. Earthworks, soft to moderately abrasive material, structures that need to stay tough.
500 HBW
Cutting edges, side plates and working surfaces under constant friction. The standard for replaceable front edges on loading buckets.
600 HBW
The most abrasive environments — limestone, granite, recycling. Used selectively, at the points of heaviest wear.
Combined construction
The usual answer in practice: a load-bearing structure in structural steel, with Hardox® where the wear actually happens.

Solving wear problems

We come to site
and measure the wear

01

Inspection in service

We look at where the tool is wearing, how fast and why. It often turns out the problem is not the material but the geometry — the wrong cutting angle, or too little protection between the teeth.

02

Remaining life assessment

We measure the remaining thickness at the critical points and estimate how many working hours are left. You then plan the replacement instead of being caught out by downtime.

03

Design proposal

If a tool keeps failing in the same place, we do not repeat the mistake. We propose a design change, additional armouring, or a different steel grade at that point.

04

Repair or replace

Repair is often cheaper than a new bucket. We carry it out in the workshop or at your location, with HARDOX® reinforcement and new edges and teeth.

Wear costs more than you think

Let us work out your cost per hour

A tool that costs more but lasts three times longer is cheaper than three cheap ones. Send us your current wear figures and we will do the arithmetic.
